MSI GPU Safeguard+ x MSI Afterburner: Protect Your GPU by Reducing Power During Abnormal Current
Case & Components
How to Reduce GPU Power Limit During Current Imbalance
- After installing Afterburner, go to the “Settings” and switch to the “Monitoring” tab. Load PSU.dll from the "Data provider" section.
- In the “Monitoring” tab, select “PSU 12VHPWR1 alarm” or “PSU 12VHPWR2 alarm”, then check “Enable MSI GPU Safeguard+”.
- Click the button on the right, check “Launch Application on alarm”, and load the “lowpowerprofile” setting provided by Afterburner.
- The MPG Ai1600TS PCIE5 offers two 12V-2x6 connectors. If you are only using one, make sure the alarm in Afterburner (PSU 12VHPWR1 or PSU 12VHPWR2) matches the connector you are actually using.
- Please use MSI Afterburner v.4.6.7 or a newer version to support the MSI GPU Safeguard+ feature.
- If current is abnormal or imbalanced, shut down immediately. Check the 12V-2x6 connector installation and inspect the cables for any faults.
